Educational Qualifications: Numerous Continuing Education and Graduate Courses. I received my BA in Science Education, Elementary Education, and minor in Business Administration at Wartburg College. To further my education, I received my MA in Science Education from the University of Northern Iowa. I am endorsed in Earth, Physical, and General Science. Experience: This is my sixth year teaching; I started teaching at Valley Lutheran. I taught Earth Science and Biology. The second and third year I taught at Dunkerton Community School District. I am looking forward to a great year at Hoover Middle School.
Focus of Our Class: The science classroom is a learner friendly and safe place to be. The focus of our class is to learn using a variety of labs and teaching styles. I enjoy testing the knowledge of all the students by asking numerous questions and using their background knowledge to help build strong lessons. Throughout the year we will be discussing many topics where the students will be analyzing and predicting outcomes through inquiry based labs.
My Special Interests: I enjoy spending time with my wife. Golfing, hunting, and fishing interests us when we are not working. We currently reside in Waverly.
